Jonathan Newcomb - Managing Director Jonathan Newcomb joined Coady Diemar in 2004 to advise companies and private equity firms in the information, publishing and education markets. In 2006 and 2007, Mr. Newcomb was the Chief Executive Officer of Cambium Learning, an education services company. Prior to joining Coady Diemar, he was a principal at Leeds Equity Partners, a New York-based private equity firm focused on the education, training and information industries. From 1994 to 2002, Mr. Newcomb held the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Simon & Schuster, one of the world's largest publishers of books, instructional, training and professional reference materials. He also served as a member of the Executive Committee of Viacom, parent company of Simon & Schuster. Prior to joining Simon & Schuster in 1989, Mr. Newcomb was President of The McGraw-Hill Financial Information Group, which included the businesses of Standard & Poor's and Data Resources. Prior to that, he ran various units of Standard & Poor's. Mr. Newcomb began his career at Dun and Bradstreet. Mr. Newcomb is a graduate of Dartmouth College and The Columbia Business School. He was 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army and is a decorated Vietnam veteran. He serves on the boards of Journal Communications (NYSE), Education Dynamics, Lulu.com, Swets NL and United Business Media (LSE), and is on the advisory board of Flat World Knowledge. |
